Jalon Valley Help

Donate Your Loose Change

During my behind-the-scenes investigations I have been impressed that the unpaid volunteers and members of Jalon Valley Help are not there for the kudos of position, nor to get their names in the newspapers or to receive performance medals, but because they genuinely want to give something back to the community by helping a registered charity with more than 30 years structured to helping those in need.

If you are not in a position to help within the organisation, be it in a shop, drop-in centre or behind the scenes, why not consider making Jalon Valley Help your charity of choice through a cash donation.

Whilst JVH raises funds through their shops and events they also rely on the donations of generous people in our community. This week I investigated how donations can be made.

Collection Tins - “Change for the Better”

How often at the end of the week, or after a busy day’s shopping, is your purse or your pocket weighed down with a collection of brown and small silver-coloured coins of low denomination, whose total value barely reaches more than a couple of euros. So, do yourself a favour and donate this small change to Jalon Valley Help and start the next week with a lighter purse.

JVH can provide you with a collection tin into which any small change and coins you can spare can be placed. Your children can help you with this task and by so doing learn the value of saving and giving to others who are less well off. Once the tin is full you return it to your local JVH shop, where they will happily give you a replacement one! If you are unable to collect a tin please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your contact details and individual arrangements can be made.

It is amazing how much difference your small change can make, as only 500 households donating as little as €2 each week, just about the price of a coffee, could raise some €50,000 for the charity each year. These funds they can use developing their present services or by responding to new needs, as and when needed in the community.

So, why not become one of these households.

Regular Committed Donations

Many people prefer to support a single charity, such as one that has supported and helped a member of their family or a friend. So what better charity to support than one which serves our specific community, through the loan of medical equipment, cancer care support and help whenever someone is in need. Jalon Valley Help is very grateful for these regular donations, be it weekly/monthly/annually, as it helps in the planning of the weekly support they give to the community. Single One-off Donations

Jalon Valley Help is also very appreciative of single one-off donations – when we each win the lottery! or as a thank you to the charity where specific support has been given to a family member or friend. Again if this is of interest please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so that individual arrangements can be made.

So please consider making a financial donation.
