Entertainers Close The Picnic Season
The Entertainers Marina Alta helped Jalon Valley Help by performing at their last BYO picnic of 2023 on Thursday 26th October at Los Arcos, Pedreguer. We were all gathered inside Los Arcos on this occasion enjoying our picnics and a welcoming early evening drink, as The Entertainers started the show with Proud Mary and this Tina Turner song set the tone for the evening – good music, fun and dancing for the gathered audience.
It was soon obvious The Entertainers had been busy practicing and developing new songs, as well as bringing back some long-time favourites. Marc gave a beautiful rendition of California Dreaming, which we all seemed to know and love, but for me the star of the first set had to be the return of Another Brick In The Wall, with The Dollies as the two incorrigible school girls [photo] which got the dancers up and rearing to go for the second set of dance songs.
Opening the second set with Disco Inferno opened the floodgates, with dancers crowded on the floor. Three Abba songs, including new one Does Your Mother Know, ensured that nobody would be sitting down for some time. Come Up and See Me certainly kept us smiling as they moved through Ring of Fire to a medley of Beatles songs to close their show.
After a few words from Richard Green, JVH President, to thank The Entertainers and to advise that more than €1,000 had been raised. They closed the evening, with Amarillo and the thought provoking and poignant Fix You.
Another wonderful evening of good songs and fun.
