I am sure, like me, you are all very sad at the passing away of Her Majesty the Queen,. She waa a remarkable woman, much revered and loved throughout the world and will be sorely missed. Our thoughts must be with the royal family, who have not only lost a monarch but a much loved family member.
I thought you would like to know that I have received the attached notice from the British Consulate in case any of you wish to send your condolences.
We would like to let you know that condolence books are open for the general public to sign at the British Consulate in Alicante.
The books are open from 10:00 – 15:00.
You do not need to make an appointment, but please ensure you bring with you some form of identification and comply with security measures in place. You can find more information on our social media page www.facebook.com/BritsinSpain
The Royal Family has also opened a virtual condolence book at https://royal.uk
Jalon Valley Help
All of us on occasion require help of some kind, someone to offer advice and support, to do shopping, take us to the hospital, or simply to provide some much needed company. There is no need to feel alone, whatever the problem we will do all we can to help you find a solution.
Founded in 1992, Jalon Valley Help is a registered charitable organisation run by unpaid volunteers, which has over the years, thanks to the hard work and dedication of these volunteers, evolved into one of the most successful and respected charities in the area.
Jalon Valley Help provides assistance to those in need within the Jalon Valley and surrounding areas, and also supports local charities and organisations, regardless of nationality.
Funds are raised through our charity shops, from donations, and by holding regular events such as our May Fayre and Christmas Bazaar.
Assistance is available on a 24 hour basis through a dedicated Helpline
on 659 624 643
In April 2022 Jalon Valley Help and Cancer Care, both keen to improve the service to cancer patients and their families, launched a new project, Cancer Care The Valleys, based at the JVH Drop-in Centre ´Animo´ in Alcalali. Both Charities have long since recognised that there is a need to provide a more localised and accessible opportunity for those diagnosed with cancer to discuss their worries and concerns with a medically qualified practitioner.
If you or any member of your family feel that you would benefit from the advice and support on offer, or just want some reassurance and the opportunity to talk, please feel free to drop in for a chat.
Alternatively perhaps you may need the assistance of the ´Lynwen Specialist Nurses´. In case the Office is busy it might be preferable, although not essential, to arrange an appointment first by contacting Jayne on 722 684 093.
